EMvTW 101: Bajoran Freighter (Antares Class (Bajoran))

I really need to get focused on writing these reviews as I have a HUGE backlog of 18 ships for us to look at together.  Luckily, I have all of the new photo libraries in place and I think we're in great shape to pop out several a day until we are caught up.

Next in our line-up is the Bajoran Antares Class Freighter.  We see a couple of these throughout two different series, however, the first appearance happens in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode that is titled, "Ensign Ro".

The model might have a familiar appearance to Star Trek fans as it has been redressed several times to appear as different types of vessels throughout Star Trek history.  In fact, Eaglemoss will be bringing us one of these ships in the near future in the form of the Smuggler's Ship as seen in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode that is titled, "Unification I".  You can read my review of that model at THIS LINK.

EMvTW 83: Bajoran Troop Transport/Interceptor (Perikian class)

Next in line for my Eaglemoss vs. The World series is the Bajoran Troop Transport.  This ship confused me when I first saw pictures of it and saw it in action in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.  At first glance, she looks like a relatively small ship, maybe shuttle or fighter sized.  Those cockpit windows are what throws me off.  But apparently, this thing can hold up to 200 troops in it, so that makes it a bit bigger than my initial estimation

According to this Memory Beta LINK, this type of vessel is classified as a Perikian class.  Furthermore, this Memory Alpha LINK tells us that they "were sublight interceptors used by the Bajoran Militia, that were lightly armed with two phaser emitters. The vessels also had towing facilities."  They were rather heavily used and seen in orbit around Bajor.

Article number eighteen of my Eaglemoss vs. The World series is yet again, another super short one. However, because of certain events surrounding this model, I can at least share some really good information with you.

I can promise that the next three articles will actually have some more meat to them and bring back the comparisons.

This time around, we bring you the Bajoran Solar Sail Ship otherwise known as the Lightship.  We are introduced to this type of vessel in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode called "Explorers".  According to some sources, it is also called a Shabren Class.

My collection consists of an Eaglemoss and a MicroMachine ship.
