Rewrites: March 2018 & January 2019
Wow! Has it really been three months (November 2016) since my last article? I guess so. I've hinted before that I would need to take a financial hiatus for a bit so, yeah, that was the result. I managed to scrape up some money for a birthday present to myself, hence this article.
We're going to stray away from Star Trek for once and take a look at a ship from one of my all time favorite, but short lived TV shows, "Firefly". At least we did get a movie out of it, but it's been a LOOONG time since we've seen anything else.
We are of course talking about the ship called Serenity, a Firefly Class [Series 3] transport from the TV series called "Firefly" and the feature length movie called "Serenity (2005)". As you can see from my collection above, I have managed to acquire three variants of this ship as well as printed my own version. In December of 2018, Hallmark released their take on this ship which is what prompted the update to this article. Sadly, my collection has been packed away for a Starbase move, and I was unable to find the MakerBot version to show in the updated collection photo above.

This blog is about sharing models and toys from my collection and in some cases doing a review. A co-worker of mine is a subscriber to LootCrate. LootCrate is a monthly subscription that costs around $14 (plus shipping) a month and they will send you a box full of stuff. Each month has a theme, for example, October was horror month and the items in the box revolved around the horror genre.
July 2016's theme was "Futuristic" and of course, the items were sci-fi related. When she pulled the following item out of her LootCrate, I seriously began to drool...
Apparently, the people over at Quantum Mechanix (QMX) made a model for the members of this "club" and that model is Bessie, the Planet Express Delivery Ship from the hit TV series, Futurama.
