EMvTW 91: USS Saratoga (NCC-31911) (Miranda Class)

Lately, when I have an Eaglemoss model to review, I normally don't have anything else to compare it to.  Especially when it comes to pre-built and pre-painted models.  That is technically the same case with this next model. the USS Saratoga, a Miranda Class Variant that we are introduced to very briefly in the Star Trek: Deespace Nine series premiere episode titled, "Emissary".

My current collection of this ship consists of the Eaglemoss model, an AMT (Round 2) model that I built, and a slightly inaccurate MicroMachine.

EMvTW 90: Romulan Scout Ship (Lanora Class)

November was another good month for me financially, so I was able to do some more catching up on the Eaglemoss collection.

First up for this month's reviews is the Romulan Scout Ship that we were first introduced to in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode titled "The Defector".

My collection of this ship consists of the Eaglemoss model and a very dusty MicroMachines version.

EMvTW 89: USS Enterprise NCC-1701-J (Universe Class)

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

The last review that I have from this/last month's purchases of Eaglemoss models is the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-J as was seen in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode titled "Azati Prime".

Per this Memory Alpha LINK and Memory Beta LINK, this type of ship was classified as a Universe Class and "was a Federation starship class, a multi-mission explorer in Starfleet service in the 26th century."  The Enterprise J was a massive vessel, around 2 miles in length, and we only get a brief glimpse of her in that episode.  You can read more about the Enterprise J at the following Memory Alpha and Memory Beta links.

EMvTW 88: Vahklas

It's time for another alien vessel in my Eaglemoss vs. The World series.  This time, the Vulcans bring us yet another vessel that we get introduced to in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode titled "Fusion".

According to this Memory Alpha LINK, "The Vahklas was a Vulcan civilian transport commanded by Tavin, the leader of its crew of V'tosh ka'tur. The vessel used a Vulcan frequency to hail other ships and was capable of visual communication. The Vahklas left Vulcan in approximately 2143."  There also is some other information about this type of ship ate this Memory Alpha LINK.

EMvTW 87: UTS Aeon (Epoch Class)

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Moving right along with my Eaglemoss vs. The World reviews, I bring you the UTS Aeon, a ship that we were introduced to in the Star Trek: Voyager two part episode titled "Future's End".

According to this Memory Beta LINK (non-cannon), "The Epoch-class, also known as Model No. 86 timeship or Aeon timeship, was a class of Federation shuttlecraft in Starfleet service in the 29th century. Epoch-class shuttles were affiliated with the Federation Timefleet, supervised by the Temporal Integrity Commission."  The UTS Aeon was involved with an incident with USS voyager and was presumed lost, then destroyed, then... well... not.

To quote Captain Janeway, "...I swore I'd never let myself get caught in one of these godforsaken paradoxes - the future is the past, the past is the future, it all gives me a headache."

You'll need to watch the episode to see what happens.  You can read more about this class of ship at these Memory Alpha and Memory Beta links.  You can also read Memory Alpha's article about the Aeon at THIS LINK.

EMvTW 86: Gorn Ship (Gress'sril Type or MA12 Class)

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Up next for this month's Eaglemoss vs. The World series is the Gorn ship.  This ship was introduced to us in the remastered version of Star Trek: The Original Series, in an episode titled, "Arena".

According to this Memory Alpha LINK, "A Gorn starship was a type of vessel utilized by the Gorn Hegemony during the mid-23rd century for conducting raids. The Gorn ship was designed with four nacelles."  Furthermore, "The Gorn ship did not appear in the original version of the episode, but rather, was conceived for the remastered episode that aired in 2006."  The ship was never given a canon-classification, probably because it never appeared in the original canon work.  According to this Memory Beta LINK, it was classified as a MA12 Class or Gress'sril Type of starship.  however, given that non-cannon works will sometimes not support each other, there is some confusion as to the naming scheme.

EMvTW 85: Federation Holoship

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Moving right along with the October/November set of Eaglemoss vs. The World series, I now present you with the Federation Holoship.

We are introduced to this ship in the movie, Star Trek: Insurrection where it is is planned to be used to secretly remove a group of people from thier home world and redeposit them somewhere else.  You can read more about this ship at these Memory Alpha and Memory Beta links.

EMvTW 84: NX Alpha (NX Prototype)

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Moving right along with my latest batch of Eaglemoss vs. The World reviews, we now come to the NX Alpha.  We were introduced to this vessel in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode titled "First Flight".

The NX Alpha, was part of the NX Project.  Per THIS Memory Alpha LINK, "The NX Project, also known as the NX Program or NX Test Program, was Starfleet's effort to develop a starship using the engine designed by the Warp Five program. Prior to the NX Project, Human ships were incapable of exceeding warp two."  Unfortunately, the NX Alpha had a short life span as it ultimately blew up during one of its test flights.  You can read more about the NX Alpha at these Memory Alpha and Memory Beta links.  Her sister ship, the NX Beta was able to successfully break the warp 2 barrier after it was "borrowed" from the Starfleet test facility.  You can read more about the NX Beta at these Memory Alpha and Memory Beta links.
