CD7 Class & CD7 Class Refit Battleship

The CD7 Class Battleship is NOT my design, however, I did ask permission to build her.  I took the original build a step further by constructing a TMP era version of the ship as well.  I was then asked by the original designer to help co-write a back story for her.

The CD7 class is based in the Mirror Universe and was originally conceived by Martin Shepherd over at the Star Trek Modelers Group page on Facebook.

Borodino Class

What happens when you try to cross your two favorite Sci-Fi universes together?  This little project,  The Borodino Class Battle Carrier is a cross-over of Star Trek with Space Battleship Yamato.

This project started life as a regular Space Battleship Yamato build that had seen better days.  I have always wanted to crossbreed the two genre and this model seemed to be a great candidate for the project.

SeaQuest Class

During my early days of kitbashing, I started to challenge myself.  Some of those challenges involved merging two different sci-fi genres together.  In some cases, they looked great.  In other cases, I had to get creative with the back-story in order to justify the ship's unique looks.

This model was one of those more challenging builds.

This is going to be a bit of a different kind of kit review.  This particular review won't be about an entire model, but rather about parts that can make it MUCH easier to build a certain type of ship that never made it to the screen.

As I started getting into collecting and wanting to expand my collection, I found a serious lack of  comparative data out there showing the various small scale pre-built and pre-painted ships available to the collector.  And so I set out to provide this information myself and hopefully help someone make a wiser decision in which model to buy.

The bittersweet news is that looking ahead, it appears that we will actually see very few comparative articles coming from me in the future.  I'm sad, as it means that my sole purpose for writing these sorts of articles is coming to an end.  But, I'm also happy in that Eaglemoss has far surpassed my wants in a manufacturer who would make models of ships that no one else has produced.   And unlike Hallmark, they are not wasting production time by producing the same model in an updated format every several years.

This also means that writing these reviews has become a rather quick affair.  (Editor's Update: Although re-writing them has become a bit of a production. 😀 )

This brings us to this month's review of the USS Relativity (NCV-474439-G), a 29th century Wells Class ship of Starfleet design.

We are introduced to this starship in the Star Trek: Voyager episode called "Relativity".

This review is going to focus on the Borg Tactical Cube, also known as the Class 4 Tactical Cube.  We get to see this type of ship in the Star Trek: Voyager episodes called "Unimatrix Zero", parts 1 and 2.

As I alluded to initially, I only have one manufacturer's model to talk about this time, and that would be Eaglemoss.

I have started a new type of article here at Deepspace Pat.  Occasionally, I get into a very long interview process with the makers of the models that I review.  And in those cases, I walk away with a ton of interesting information that probably doesn't need to go into the review but instead warrants it's own article.

Consider this a sister article to my actual review of the Tactical Game Systems 1:2500 MCS-7 Class Destroyer.
