Rewrites: NONE YET

For this issue of Eaglemoss vs. The World, we are going to take a look at the Axanar Cargo Ship.

We first get to see this starship in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode called "Fight or Flight".

Per Memory Alpha and Beta, "The Axanar cargo ship was a type of freighter used by the Axanar during the mid-22nd century. Crewed by as many as fifteen, a typical ship of this type was approximately ninety-two meters in length, and had a hull comprised of tritanium and disilicon polymers."

One quick note about this model's stand... it is very secure and will hold the model perfectly, however, it is a very snug fit and a bit challenging to attach.  Be very cautious when mounting or unmounting the model so that you do not scratch the paint work.

And now, here is the model.

The sculpt and mold work on this model is a big seller for me.  There are details etched into this ting from front to back.

The cargo area of the ship is most impressive with the compartmentalized sections as well as the details that were molded into the top and bottom of the model.

The model does not seem to have any clear plastics on it.  Speaking of seam, the join seam is only noticeable on the top rear engine housing.  Otherwise it is well hidden along the rest of the ship's natural lines.

The paint work at first appears to be rather bland from a distance.  The entire model shines with that metallic silver paint work.

Once you get in closer though, you can detect a slight weathering that has been washed over the ship to attempt to give it a more used look.  Most impressive though is all of the markings on all of the cargo compartments.  The ship also bears what I can assume is the registry information on the command portion of the model.

The engine exhausts have been treated to some yellow paint to help us find those important parts of the ship.

And that is all the pictures and comparisons I have to share on this ship at this time.  As for pricing, I will continue with the tradition of looking up pricing on eBay and finding the most inexpensive Buy-It-Now prices at the time of this article's writing.  Prices were researched last on July 20th, 2020, and as of the writing of this article, I was able to find the model from a seller for around $25 (shipping included).  You also can currently order the model right from Eaglemoss' US WebStore for around $25 (shipping unknown).

We now get the the end of the review where I get to tell you if I think it is worth getting.  Well, as far as I'm concerned, the pricing is good.  The sculpt and mold work are fascinating, and totally overrides the tiny little join seam issue I found.  The paint work at first looks basic, but upon closer examination is actually kind of cool.  In the end, I feel that Eaglemoss produced a nice model.  While it is not a flashy Starfleet vessel, it does indeed catch your eye while it sits among your other alien ships of your collection.

As always, I hope you found this article useful and informative.  If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to comment below.

So for now, "Live long and prosper!!!"
