EMvTW Extra 23 - Friendship 1 (UESPA-1) (Deep Space Probe)

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Rewrites: NONE YET

The next Bonus Edition model to come out of Eaglemoss was not a starship at all, but rather a deep space probe called Friendship 1.

We first get to see this deep space probe in the Star Trek: Voyager episode called "Friendship One".

EMvTW 169 - Kes' Shuttle

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Rewrites: NONE YET

This review is going to focus on a ship we see in one episode, a ship that Kes used to visit the USS Voyager.

We first get to see this types of starship in the Star Trek: Voyager episode called "Concerning Flight".  Apparently though, the CGI model was reused in a slightly modified way in at least five different episodes including the variant we see for this Eaglemoss model.  This particular one appeared in the Star Trek: Voyager episode called "Fury".

It has been a little while, but here we are again, departing from the regular lineup of Standard Edition, Special Edition and Bonus Edition models.  This time around, we are reviewing the Shuttlecraft Collection Set #6.  This review is going to also differ from others that I typically write, in that it will cover four different Eaglemoss models in one article.

The set consists of four smaller than Standard Edition sized models, with accompanying half height magazines and something called Okudagrams.

No Golden Tickets (or Enterprises) Here...

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Rewrites: NONE YET

We are going to take a quick divergence from my regular writings for a minute.

For a while now, I have skipped certain Bonus (or Extra as I call them) Line of Eaglemoss models because I couldn't bring myself to spending money on essentially a re-skin of an already published model.  It didn't seem to me like the build quality was going to get any better and chances were, the paint work was probably going to be almost identical to the originally released model except for the new registry markings.

It looks like Eaglemoss is now scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas on how to part us with our money yet again, and I am thinking that I will now be skipping purchasing certain Special Edition line of models going forward.

Starting with Special Edition #20, Eaglemoss has decided to bring us a golden model of the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1707-D).

I believe their intention is to give us the ability to create a display much like the one on the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E) that was located in it's observation lounge.

You really should go check out John Eaves' blog entry (at THIS LINK) about the USS Enterprise-E's Golden Enterprise Display.  It is a long and well illustrated article about his work on this iconic display case.

EMvTW 166 - Tamarian Deep Space Cruiser (Darmok Class)

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Rewrites: NONE YET

“Mirab, with sails unfurled.”  We set forth on this Standard Edition review with the Tamarian Deep Space Cruiser, also known as the Darmok Class in the non-canon resources.

Note: The picture above actually shows the MicroMachine model of a Klaestron Ship.  Apparently, the filming model was reused for both races.  Since it does not seem like we will see a Klaestron model from Eaglemoss, I figured that I would share it.  As for the actual Eaglemoss model of the Tamarian Deep Space Cruiser, we first get to see this starship in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode called "Darmok".

EMvTW Extra 21 - Klingon D4 Concept (D'ama Class)

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Rewrites: NONE YET

The next Bonus Edition starship to be released by Eaglemoss was a concept model of what the D4 would have looked like in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode called "Unexpected".

Sadly, this design was never used on screen.

EMvTW Extra 20 - SS Conestoga (Discovery Class)

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Rewrites: NONE YET

Our next Bonus Edition (or Extra Edition I like to call them) model from Eaglemoss takes us to the days before the Star Trek: Enterprise era.  This is a much older starship of the fleet, the SS Conestoga.

We first get to learn about this starship in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode called "Terra Nova"  I always liked the look of this ship and long before I knew that Eaglemoss was going to produce one, I bought a resin model kit from a company called Resin Modeler.  Unfortunately, at the time of this article's writing, I have the resin kit packed away for a starbase move so I can not give you a comparison picture.  I'll talk more about that model at the end of this article.

The set consists of four smaller than Standard Edition sized models, with accompanying half height magazines and something called Okudagrams.
