Model Building 101 - Display Shelves

My small scale fleet collection all started with my getting Hallmark Ornaments for Christmas presents.  As the years progressed and my collection grew, I decided that I wanted to display those ornaments along with the rest of the collection.  I accomplished this by redesigning some bookcases to allow me to hang up the ornaments.  This worked well because for some of my models, I've installed eye hooks to allow them to be hung as well.  Over the last two years, the size of the collection has exploded.

Bookcases 1-3 = Star Trek Starfleet Ships

Bookcases 4-5 = Star Trek Alien Ship

Bookcase 6 = Space Battleship Yamato Ships

As I said in the last article, it's been a busy month.  I'm still unpacking my fleet and as such, the time for writing has been eaten up by all this move business.  But here we are, the second of this month's Eaglemoss ships, the Cardassian Hideki class ship.

This ship was first seen in the second season of Deep Space Nine during the episode titled, "Profit and Loss".

It's been a busy month for Triple-D Enterprises in that we moved locations.  I had to pack up my fleet for the move.  I'm happy to say that all of the ships survived the move.  Sometime early last week, my latest Eaglemoss ships arrived in the mail and this is the first time that I've had a chance to sit down and write anything up.

This month's first ship is the Danube Class Runabout called the USS Orinoco from Deepspace Nine.  We first get to see this type of ship in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's first episode called "Emissary".

Unlike the last couple of Eaglemoss vs. The World posts from me, I actually have some other manufacturers's ships to compare it with.

My current collection consists of an Eaglemoss, a Furuta, a Hallmark and a MicroMachine model.

Great Galaxy Yamato Class Battleship

One of the things I like about kitbashing is that it gives you a way to add ships to your collection that you normally can't buy in the store.  This ship is one of those weird looking ones that I figured I could build with some planning.

The Dai Yamato Zero Go, also known as the Great Galaxy Yamato Class Battleship is a ship from a very short lived series called "Dai Yamato Zero Go" or "Great Yamato #0".  The show occurs 1000 years after "The Quest For Iscandar" and the iconic ship that we all know and love has undergone some radical changes.

Lexington Class Battle Carrier

The Lexington Class Battle Carrier was a hybrid starship that the E.D.F. had built in response to the need to match the fleet capabilities of the Gamilons.  The E.D.F. used the already existing platform of the the successful and quickly built Borodino Class Battleships and modified it to be able to carry a larger compliment of support craft.

And we will jump right into the second of this month's Eaglemoss vs. The World ships, the Romulan Valdore Class.

We get to see this ship in action doing battle along side a sister ship of the same class, in the movie Star Trek: Nemesis (2002).

This is another one of those ships that only Eaglemoss has produced in a pre-built and pre-painted format of this scale.  While you can purchase some resin models of this ship, those require some building and painting, and are a bit more expensive than Eaglemoss' already finished model.

It's that time of the month again!  I love saying that!  LOL.  Anyway, I received my next shipment of Eaglemoss ships so let's get this party started and present you with the next edition of my Eaglemoss vs. The World articles by taking a look at the Nausicaan fighter.

We are introduced to this starship in the Star Trek Enterprise episode titled, "Fortunate Son".

This is another one of those ships where Eaglemoss is the only manufacturer has made a pre-built and pre-painted version of this ship.  that being said, this is going to be short article.
