Great Galaxy Yamato Class Battleship

[Editor's Note (May 2016): This will mark my second re-write of this article.  I feel like I've developed a certain style and flow to the articles that I write and I wanted to make all of them have that same feel across the series.  Consider this the REFIT version of the original article.]

One of the things I like about kitbashing is that it gives you a way to add ships to your collection that you normally can't buy in the store.  This ship is one of those weird looking ones that I figured I could build with some planning.

The Dai Yamato Zero Go, also known as the Great Galaxy Yamato Class Battleship is a ship from a very short lived series called "Dai Yamato Zero Go" or "Great Yamato #0".  The show occurs 1000 years after "The Quest For Iscandar" and the iconic ship that we all know and love has undergone some radical changes.

Lexington Class Battle Carrier

Rewrites: May 2016 & May 2019

The Lexington Class Battle Carrier was a hybrid starship that the E.D.F. had built in response to the need to match the fleet capabilities of the Gamilons.  The E.D.F. used the already existing platform of the the successful and quickly built Borodino Class Battleships and modified it to be able to carry a larger compliment of support craft.

EMvTW 31 - Romulan Warbird IRW Valdore (Mogai class)

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Rewrites: May 2016 & August 2018

And we will jump right into the second of this month's Eaglemoss vs. The World ships, the Romulan Valdore Class.

We get to see this ship in action doing battle along side a sister ship of the same class, in the movie Star Trek: Nemesis (2002).

This is another one of those ships that only Eaglemoss has produced in a pre-built and pre-painted format of this scale.  While you can purchase some resin models of this ship, those require some building and painting, and are a bit more expensive than Eaglemoss' already finished model.

EMvTW 30 - Nausicaan Fighter/Raider

Rewrites: May 2016 & July 2018

It's that time of the month again!  I love saying that!  LOL.  Anyway, I received my next shipment of Eaglemoss ships so let's get this party started and present you with the next edition of my Eaglemoss vs. The World articles by taking a look at the Nausicaan fighter.

We are introduced to this starship in the Star Trek Enterprise episode titled, "Fortunate Son".

This is another one of those ships where Eaglemoss is the only manufacturer has made a pre-built and pre-painted version of this ship.  that being said, this is going to be short article.

Federation Class and Federation Class Refit

Rewrites: April 2016 & July 2018

Ever since I became a Treckie, I have always been fascinated with the mighty Federation Class Dreadnought.  Once I started collecting small scale Star Trek ships, I have always wanted a Federation Class dreadnought in my collection.  Let's face it,they just look bad-ass.

As I built the various renditions of this ship classification, I wrote the "story background" for them from the point of view that is based in MY Star Trek "alternate" universe.  Although my universe bears a lot of striking resemblances to the cannon universe, there WILL of course be a few items that differ.

The Federation Class Dreadnought was a much bigger ship than it's Constitution class counterparts of the time.  As such, they were also more powerful and wielded much more firepower.

USS Kuklinski (MSD-5115)
Vogon Class Heavy Construction Vessel
1:2500 Cozmo Heavy Industries kitbash
Inspired by Jean-Paul Jesstiece

I saw a ship on the Star Trek Modelers Group page on FaceBook that Jean-Paul made using a Constellation and an Excelsior body and he had said that it was a heavy construction vessel. The concept behind the ship was to deliver construction workers and supplies to deep space construction jobs. I asked for permission to play with the idea a little bit and decided to go with a much bigger secondary hull.

Galactica Class

This ship was one of those projects that came about from trying out different scrap pieces of model with other scrap pieces of model.

USS Montgomery Scott (MSD-2015)
Galactica Class, High Speed Repair Vessel
[1:2500 Scale Cozmo Heavy Industries Kitbash]

 Extended Mode

I built this model with two versions of the spacedock.  One of the versions is in the extended mode and is actually large enough to house my other 1:2500 Constitution Class and Miranda class ships. I also built a retracted spcedock to show what it would look like while traveling. The docks are not glued on which allows an easy swap out.

Retracted Mode

Resin Kit Review: Resin Modeler 1:1400 Earth Colony Ship (Discovery Class)

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

Rewrites: July 2020 & May 2016

[Editor's Note (July 2020): This will mark my third update of this article.  Now that I've written a bunch of articles, I feel like I've developed a certain style and flow to them and I wanted to make all of them have that same feel across the series.  Consider this the REFIT version of the original article.]

I'm going to shift gears slightly and go back to a Resin Modeler kit.  This one is his 1:1400 Earth Colony Ship.

Resin Modeller's Recommended Paint Scheme

This ship never appeared on screen but was mentioned in an early episode of Star Trek: Enterprise when they went to investigate an old Earth colony.  The SS Conestoga was the ship that had delivered the colony and was then dismantled for it's materials to make the colony.

Resin Kit Review: Cozmo Heavy Industries 1:2500 Pre-TOS Adversary Set

NOTE:  You can click on most pictures to get a larger view of them.

The next resin kit that I'm going to review is another one of Cozmo Heavy Industries' revived line of kits.  The 1:2500 Pre-TOS Adversary set is unique in that it gives you three different ships.  The kit includes a Federation Daedalus class, a Romulan ship and and a Klingon ship.

C.H.I.'s eBay Advertisement

The kit itself is reminiscent of the AMT Round 2 sets that contain three ships.

So, if you have bought and built any of these kits, then this set from C.H.I. will blend in well with your collection.
